MarsKeel™ can provide the customer with any required fabricated part needed. Anything from keel fins to custom cradles. We control and over see each step of the fabrication process, from initial analysis of the drawing to final production.
Note:
You can read more about the fins in the Custom Keel, Fabricated Fin section of the website. This section is an outline of the non-fin fabricated parts.
The fabrications we produce can be for parts used in the casting itself or external to the castings. A great number of the parts we produce are internal weldments such as wing attachment points, trim tab stock sockets. These are made of a combination of fabrication and machining. We produce parts ranging in complexity from simple boxes used to create a mounting position for fins in cast lead bulbs to large weldments connected to different points of the casting. Please remember that anything that is to be cast in lead must be in place in the mold or it will float to the top during pouring.
The materials that can be used in these parts, internal and external, are virtually unlimited. Generally speaking the majority of the fabricated parts are made from the typical marine materials such as, Stainless Steel (304, 316, 2205 Duplex, Aqualoy22), hardened steel (CHT 100) and mild steel (44W)
All of our welders are certified by the CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau). We can also offer Engineer Certified and tested parts if required. The types of NDT (non destructive testing) of material and weld we can provide include UT (Ultrasonic), LPI (Liquid Penetrant) and RT (Radiographic).
We offer the client not just the ability to produce the required part but also the experience of our people. We are very likely to offer the designer or the customer a more common solution for offered problems.
